We aim to celebrate the rich talent of Bexhill community whilst bringing world class performers to the local stage.
We have once again aimed to put together a programme for all tastes with the emphasis on our community. We have provided a month long celebration of high quality music incorporating our own local talent. With no improvement in the economic situation, and with no financial backing for this year’s Festival, we would ask for your continued support for the events on offer, some of which are free of charge.
There will be two major fundraisers for The Bexhill Festival of Music Charity to help cover the costs of this year’s marketing.
They are the Back to Basie Orchestra winners of the Best Big Band at the 2011 British Jazz awards. There will also be a Brass Band Concert and afternoon tea with Battle Town Band in the garden of Hartfield House overlooking the sea.
The trustees pay tribute to Alan Haydon who sadly died last year. He was a founding member of the Bexhill Festival of Music and his input and expertise will be missed. We also thank Nikki Gedney for her contribution as a trustee over the past years. We welcome Carol Gibbins, Brian Hyams and David Getty our new trustees who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Thank you to all who have contributed to this year’s programme, especially Top Marks I.T. Computer Services and Peter Lindsey.
We look forward to seeing you.
