Welcome to The Bexhill Festival of Music 2024

This is our 15th annual festival, promoting live and local music throughout the town, offering a wide range of musical styles, instruments and performers. Many events are free to attend and will be raising valuable
funds for local and national charities through voluntary donations.

Bookends: The festival will be opened by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with their summer concert at the De la Warr Pavilion - a cracking start! As ever the festival concludes with our very own Last Night of the Bexhill Proms: a rousing finale!

Oh Very Young: Cradled at the centre of our Festival is The Summer Big Sing, where pupils from schools in our local area come together in the De la Warr Pavilion to sing their hearts out accompanied by live music played by professional musicians. Our thanks extend to all their music teachers for the hard work in preparing the children. We thank the Bexhill Lions and the De La Warr Pavilion for their continued support of this event. In this regard, we also welcome aboard “Create Music” who will be doing great work with our younger members in the Outdoor Stage and The London Mozart Players events.

Memories of a Free Festival-Finances: Times are hard  at the moment for many people and organisations, we are no exception. We have lost valuable grant-aided support this year. However, we plough on as this Festival is so important for the town and its people. In this regard, the money we receive from our advertisers this year is really valued: thank you to them all. Thanks extend also to Gaby Hardwicke Solicitors and McPherson‘s Accountants for their continued support.

Down Town Venues: We welcome aboard, as a new venue, the Bexhill Coronation Bandstand. We look forward to this being a valued venue in the years to come. In fact, we have featured its roof on our front cover, together with its resident seagulls choir, always practising to improve their seven part harmonies! You’ve probably experienced them down there, they are really trying!! We must hope for modest improvements as time goes by - work in progress!!

Come Together: Please support as many events as you can.
Here's to a jolly and enjoyable festival!
